Why did you become a vet?

I have loved animals since I was a little girl. I was always trying to bring any creature I could put my hands on home at a young age. Looking back at journals we had to write while in elementary school, when asked what I wanted to be, the answer was always a Veterinarian. I think my decision was solidified after I started riding horses and got to hang out with the equine vets that were always at the barn.

What do you enjoy about your job?

The best part is that I genuinely love coming to work everyday. There is always something new to learn each day, which is great! We have a great staff here that is always available to bounce ideas off of which is very helpful and beneficial to our patients. We all come from different backgrounds so its neat to learn about everyone’s different perspectives on things.

Education

Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Spanish from the University of Mississippi (2012)

Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine (2016)

What do you love most about living in Memphis?

I grew up in Memphis and have been gone the last 9 years so I am most excited about being back close to my family. Memphis is a great place to live because there is always something fun to do and great places to eat.  I grew up showing hunter/jumper horses so I love being back and getting to pick that back up. Memphis has a great horse community.

What secret talent do you wish that you had?

I wish I were fluent in a couple different languages.
