Working with animals and the people who love them is my dream job. I don’t feel like I’ve ever gone to work a single day. It just doesn’t feel like work to me which is wonderful. Growing up, I asked for a job at our local veterinarian’s office but I was told was too young. I told my dad about it and he explained to me that I just needed to get my foot in the door by finding something the vet needed done and just do it. So I decided to pull our family push mower behind my bike and just mow the grass at the clinic (unannounced) and it worked. I got a job mowing the grass and in a few years moved to a job inside the clinic working with the pets.
Every day is a new challenge and the opportunity to improve the lives of pets and thus their owners. Seeing good outcomes and improvement in patients, along with the joy of their owners, is so gratifying.
