Why did you become a vet?

I’ve always loved animals and found the human animal bond fascinating. I knew I wanted to work with animals, but it wasn’t until I took a job at an animal clinic as a kennel tech that I realized that was truly what I wanted to do. The idea of having a career that allowed me to work with animals and nurture the human-animal bond at the same time was exactly what I’d been looking for.

What do you enjoy about your job?

So many things. Being a vet allows me to utilize so many different areas of science, from virology to immunology to nutrition to genetics and everything in between. Every day is something new and it’s like a puzzle that requires all the pieces to be put together. I also enjoy getting to help families nurture their bond with their pets, I get to be a part of their family and watch them grow.
