Dr. Katie Wooden knew she wanted to become a veterinarian when her family adopted their first dog, a Golden Retriever named Tessie. “I was only six years old, but I knew that I wanted to take care of animals for the rest of my life.”

Why did you become a vet?

I’ve always loved animals, but working at The Pet Hospitals as a kennel attendant in high school and college convinced me to go to vet school.

 

What do you enjoy about your job?

Seeing our patients leave the clinic in better health than when they came in. Also, my coworkers are amazing and make every day fun.
