Why did you become a vet?

I became a veterinarian for several reasons, one being that I love the aspect of playing detective. I knew I loved animals and wanted to be a veterinarian since kindergarten, shout out to my mom for telling me about it, but there is so much more to it than that.  You have to be able to piece all of the details from the animal’s history, read an animal’s signs based on behavior, perform a thorough physical exam, and then interpret results from diagnostics to come up with an answer. I get to apply my love for medicine, animals, and people all into one career that I love.

What do you enjoy about your job?

My favorite part about being a veterinarian is that I get to be an advocate for animals and their amazing owners. Bringing comfort to a stressed or sick pet is truly my passion. Being a part of The Pet Hospitals team allows me to practice the best medicine possible, while also being able to collaborate with many doctors who are able to share their experiences and advice. It’s an honor and privilege to take care of you and your furry family member, whether it be through the good times or the bad.

What do you love most about living in Memphis?

The thing I love most about living in the 901 is the local vibe, especially the music and food. From Lafayette’s music room, Levitt shell, Live at the Garden and so many different local restaurants, there is always something new to check out and try with some of the best people around.

What secret talent do you wish that you had?

So many options..I would secretly love to be able to play the guitar and rock out to the best classic rock songs from the 70s and 80s. Or to be able to answer all of the questions right on Jeopardy.
