Why did you become a vet?

I’ve always been very passionate about animals from a young age. I know how much of an impact they can have on our lives and we can have on theirs. I wanted to become a veterinarian so that I could not only help animals, but so I could also help the people who care for them.

What do you enjoy about your job?

I love being able to care for and advocate for animals. It is an incredible feeling to be able to examine a patient who is not able to tell you what is wrong with them, figure out what is causing their pain, and help relieve it. I love being able to help pets return to their families and live happy lives together.

Education

I received my Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Nutrition, and Health Promotion from Mississippi State University in 2014. I then went on to receive my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. Following graduation, I moved to San Antonio, TX and completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at BluePearl Specialty and Emergency Hospital.

What do you love most about living in Memphis?

The food! I love Memphis BBQ.

What secret talent do you wish that you had?

I would love to be able to sing or play guitar (or both)!
