Why did you become a vet?

I decided to become a veterinarian because I believe it is a huge privilege to not only work with animals but their human families as well. Veterinary medicine is really special because we are trained to focus on the well being of the entire patient, not just one organ system. The idea of treating multiple species with an intensely varied case load sounded exciting before I went to school, but the career turned out to be even better than I expected.

What do you enjoy about your job?

Getting to know patients and their families, working together with my colleagues on complicated cases, sending pets home healthy and happy, and of course, spending time with adorable animals.

Education

2009 graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a degree in Sociology, 2015 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine; worked as an associate veterinarian for 1 year in Philadelphia suburb prior to moving to Memphis.

What do you love most about living in Memphis?

Memphis has the buzz and energy of a much larger city, but life is infinitely easier, friendlier, and more laid back here.

What secret talent do you wish that you had?

I wish I knew how to play the piano and had a great singing voice. Being able to fly would be pretty neat too.
